My story is a very long one and I don’t want to bore you with my dramas but after an early party hard life and giving up the pot 8-10yrs ago I have drank nonstop the whole time, not as bad as it sounds. I would have a drink or two every day when I got home to unwind, never getting drunk just to unwind.
But in the last 6 months or so I was not really enjoying a drink and had that horrible beer belly that haunts you at around 35yrs old hanging around.
When I saw the story about FebFast on telly, that was all I needed to pull my head in. So I went to work and told my bosses (which I work alongside of) that they are going to give up the drink for the month. With a little reluctance they decided to join in as well as a few boys out in the yard as well. A few have now parted with the $25 dollar fee but a good mate and myself are the sole survivors and loving it. Now I plan to just have one night a week (probably Sat night) to have an ale if that.
The moral of my story is GREAT IDEA, GREAT CONCEPT, GREAT WAY TO HELP THE KIDS.
